Psst… Can You Keep a Secret?

Psst… Can You Keep a Secret?

You promise not to tell anyone. You really need to keep this a secret. I found myself sounding like my clients. Saying things like not getting anything done at the end of the day… accomplishing very little…getting far behind in achieving goals.

How could this happen? I’m the "Time Diva"

What’s wrong with this picture? How did this this happen?

You probably remember times in your life when everything comes together. The future looks sweet at that moment. Everything moves forward in a smooth and fast motion.

Nov. 2006 was that moment in time for my husband Mike and me. We began talking about our lives 3 years from now. We grab a spiral notebook wrote about that big picture.

Then WHAM!

Something happens, life broadsides you. Turning your life and everything upside down. We are talking about major life and emotional changing upheavals.

Dealing with 5 months of life’s knockdowns can get you so totally off track, all those well laid out plans completely messed up.

Well it’s been calm the past few months and here I am dead in the water, blown very off course and my boat without sails. Making very little progress in getting back to that 3-year picture.

I’m living proof… dealing in real time… facing the reality of what happens when life knocks you off your feet and drags you several miles down the road.

It feels great getting off the gerbil wheel of upheaval and nothing out of the ordinary happening. I began to feel embarrassed. My coach asked what happened since our last call and respond in a pathetic voice with, "I have no idea and feel like I’m flying by the seat of my pants."

How do you pick up the pieces and give momentum kick-start? That kick-start happened during a Focus 20 Success Club Mastermind Call. Gold member Joe is experiencing great growth and goal achievement.

Joe said, "Ann, we do our weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews but I thought I’d take an example from you and do something a little different this month. It’s the half-year mark. Something you and your husband do inspired me. You know how you two go away at the end of each year to review and set up your goals.

I’m going to do that for the half year by taking a day and do a thorough review of where I stand with my goals, and I want you to hold me accountable on our next call on accomplishing that review."

At that moment, I went duh… and ah ha moment hit me…

The solution is in my system.

Mike and I didn’t get away to do that goal strategy session for this year. I need to listen to my own message and relearn old lessons. Get back to the basics and do them.

While talking with my coach, I told him I already blocked out the rest of the day and next to complete that strategy goal session and create that action plan.

At this point Coach Ron got excited and said, "I’m probably preaching to the choir" and started giving ideas and suggestion… and yes they were already in the system… It’s all in there… (now I sound like a Prego commercial)

Coach Ron said, "We let circumstances get in the way"

He is right… I choose to let Mike’s health issues along with other major circumstances get in the way. Let’s be honest… Focusing on my husband staying alive became a higher priority over a 3-year strategy session.

My coach asked how I could use the experiences of those disastrous months. One suggestion… share my story while I’m get moving again and get my life back on track.

So over the next few days, I will share some strategies and tips on how I got my life and business back on track…
