Wow - What a Rush

24 April 2007

Wow! What a Rush

My mind is still reeling from attending the International Podcasting Expo 2007 this past weekend.

Penny Haynes did a phenomenal job in putting this together. Consider her the Queen of Podcasting.

What is a Podcast?

Think of a podcast as you own radio show. Your listeners can tune and hear it on their PC, using your MP3 player, or with just a web browser.

Get this… it’s relatively inexpensive to create a podcast… in fact most it’s free.

My podcast launch for this month got delayed with the unexpected death of my father-in-law. I decided to push it back to May.

But after attending this expo, I need to do a little more prepping before launching. Especially since podcasting can significantly increase your Search engines rankings if done correctly.

Penny provided plenty of techno now how presenters. But I found the experienced podcasters sharing their secrets the best part.

I would have made almost every mistake that Anna Farmery’s revealed in her “If I Could Do it Over” seminar. Learning from someone who’s been there done that can save you considerable time mistakes and money.

Attending the International Podcasting Expo 2007 didn’t require traveling anywhere. Just walked into my office, turned on the computer and went to the virtual expo center. The software used mimicked an actual offline expo center… including a virtual restroom complete with flushing toilet.

Lots of Kudos to Penny Haynes… she did something often lacking in the “real” world seminars… connecting people. Her power network sessions gave everybody an opportunity to talk about their business, meet with the presenters and receive additional help improving or launching their Podcast.

I made plenty of new friends (I tripled my skype contact list) and received invites to appear as a guest on several podcast programs. I too connected with individuals who will also appear on mine as well thus making it easier to create the content for our “Flip Your Time” podcast show.

If you are thinking about podcasting, I highly recommend you check out Penny’s outstanding podcast resource site http://www.1stpodcastpublishing.com/

You don’t want to miss the next International Podcasting Expo

This weekend you’ll find me at the Business Women’s Growth Summit … yep another virtual expo… challenging women to grow 1 million dollar businesses. http://www.businesswomensgrowthsummit.com/
