13 April 2007A Reminder of Our Short Time on This Earth
Our family received reminder on April 4th on how short our time is on this earth. My father-in-law passed away suddenly.
My favorite Motivational speaker, Jim Rohn, doesn’t refer to life in years but in seasons. We each get a limited amount of seasons at birth. Steve received 80 summers, 80 falls, 80 winters and 80 springs.
His son, Bob, put together a beautiful presentation depicting Steve’s full life. It’s his way of honoring his father’s memory. Watching it at the service helped us focus on all the wonderful memories and times we shared together.
Quoting from Steve Jobs’ 2005 Commencement speech at Stanford University:
“If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something….No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it….
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
A reminder that Your past is not your potential…in any hour YOU can choose to liberate your future.

Thanks Deb so much for your comments… we all cried. I feel very blessed that this man entered my life. If it wasn’t for him , I wouldn’t have my wonderful husband.
